Choix Vocational Services are individually designed around each individual’s personal, vocational and self-advocacy goals. Services and supports are provided both at our facility and in the community. The program goal is to develop important life coping skills, reduce and/or eliminate challenging behaviors, install positive replacement behaviors and teach skills necessary to assist persons with developmental disabilities to live a fulfilling life. The program enables participants to gain self-esteem that will empower them to become more independent and able to advocate for themselves.
The program provides life choices and individualized training. Client driven services are based in the principle of normalization and appropriate teaching practices. An initial person-centered planning meeting is conducted with the individual and significant loved ones to identify the best matched activities.
Clients receive 5.5 hour of training instruction each program day. Choix operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m throughout the year.
